Description

Black and white private mailing card showing the elm trees said to be planted on October 16, 1777 to celebrate the surrender of General Burgoyne to General Gates, ending the War of Revolution. These are the trees which gave the Elmwood area of West Hartford its name. Message, stamp and postmark 1928 on reverse.
